We took a very short trip to Brussels - it was just under 24 hours. I hadn't been there so it was nice to visit but I might have to go back since I didn't see much. The Grand Place, or Grote Markt, is very nice and a perfect setting for Christmas. We even watched the France-Ukraine football match where France scored the exact number of goals allowing them to go to the World Cup in Brazil. That was fun. And we stayed in the Radisson Blu which was very nice!
We took a high-speed train and I snapped these shots. I think they turned out great.
I particularly like the one below. If the scenes look fast, they are - we're going about 200 mph!
My friend insisted we get some Belgian fries (frites) because he's had them before and loved them. I will easily concur - they were fantastic! And we had a kabab later in the evening and that was awesome, too! On the right, is the Brussels Town Hall in the Grand Place. It really grabs your attention as stands 96 meters tall and is has cool lighting.
I have an automatic watch and I'm always intrigued by the design / how they work.
Mine is cheap, but this is a close up of the movement.
