Don't Ask, 1990
Watercolor and India ink on bristol paper
Don’t ask. Named for the fact that I don’t know what inspired this or what it is. Bristol board is what many cartoonists primarily use for their art. It lends really good definition to lines and doesn’t run. I was tampering with Bristol and India ink when I made this. I remember my goal being the cleanest lines I could free hand. I also had cool rub-on letters which is how I made the “don’t ask”. The overall design is indicative of many of my doodles.
