2006, watercolor on paper
This was an idea for a potential Christmas card of 2006. I hated it when I did it but it has grown on me a little bit. DFs will likely make it into the cards someday (read below). They're just too cool to leave out. If you don't believe me, watch one sometime. I was trying to focus on the amazing color of this DF which is why the tail fades to abstraction. Also, the wings were avoided because the level of detail is ridiculous. What I didn't like was the lack of realism. The face doesn't evoke a double take. I did paint a DF for the card of 2008, Christmas Dragon, but it was completely different.
