I visited the
Centre Pompidou to see the
Dali Expo. First of all, the Pompidou is huge and has a ton of stuff. But this Dali show was out of control and I had great company. We waited outside for about an hour and then waited another 30+ minutes inside. Was it worth it? Well, I had a good date and there were 120ish pieces of Dali's work. It was the biggest Dali show I've been to. I've been to others with significantly shorter lines, but this show had paintings I had yet to see in person. I was happy to see some of my favorites, shown below. We call Soft Construction with Boiled Beans "9", but that's an inside joke.

I was surprised with the size of Persistence of Memory. It's only 24 cm × 33 cm (9.5 in × 13 in). It kind of pulls a Mona Lisa on you - where you imagine it bigger than it is. Mona Lisa is only
77 cm × 53 cm (30 in × 21 in). Bigger, yes, but still smaller than you might imagine. And, I stumbled across another painting which I though was really cool. It's the Phantom Cart (also small). In the end, it was a good exposition.
