I was at a conference and the last day was 'team building' - which happened to be snowboarding (or skiing if so inclined). It was late in the season, but it turned out to be epic. A little crusty early in the morning, but softened up nicely and stayed just shy of slush. The day and the weather were perfect and I was with a great group of guys. I didn't bring my Sims and when you're standing in a rental shop you usually ask yourself why. It also made me ask the more annoying question...why don't I know the length of my board? Well, I didn't know it and was at the mercy of the rental crew. They were nice...put me on a 163 cm. A Rossignol Trick Stick to be more precise. It's shown below.
It's 4 cm more than i'm used to. I probably should've known that since I was on a 158 forever and only went up 1 cm with my Sims. So, is a 4 cm difference noticeable? Probably to a cool board brah, but I'm not sure I noticed. It had been three years since I boarded so any rustiness was probably more a factor of time than 4 cm. It was a nice board and worked fine. Next time I'll probably bring my own stuff. Or, as is sometimes the case, I could've skied. Everyone else was skiing and they have to wait for you to strap in junk...and I get irate on flat spots. It would have been easier and I still like skiing. Still a fantastic day!
