I was standing on an airfield watching the sky transform from completely overcast and gray into what is pictured below. And it was happening quickly. It was an epic site. While anyone in the local area could also enjoy this sky, I don't think most people were watching the sky with hopes it would change. But even if they were, one thing I love about airfields is the unobstructed (almost) view of the sky in which I will put my airplane. How great is that?
This particular picture is at KPHF (Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport) with a Cessna 172's (N7320F) tail in view.
