I had a smaller canvas panel that was to be repurposed and I wanted to work on a much darker sky. I was pretty happy with it but didn't have a subject to place on the horizon. I was thinking maybe just a horizon, but a friend of mine posted a castle he had just visited in England. I thought it would fit perfectly against the sky.
The original panel is on the left and a gif showing the progress. About 18 days had passed.
In a frame I had that happened to be the right size.
