Hayden Pass
04 December 2024
Acrylic on canvas
18 x 24 in (45.7 x 60.9 cm)
I wanted to work on some more abstract pieces and this was my latest creation. The original vision was a more linear separation between the top and bottom. However, I liked sharpness and contrast of the vertical projections. It reminded me of some of the "meaner" mountains in Colorado. There's a lower spot which harkens to the the first pass I usually take when giving a mountain flying course. On the northern edge of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range, Hayden Pass offers an east-to-west/west-to-east crossing.
