I've been wanting to paint an aerial shot like this for quite awhile and fortunately, there was a call for art that had the same idea. It was "Window Seat - Views from the Stratosphere", with the intent of showing art in an airport. Funny enough, Auntiluna was also intended for this call, but it was purchased. I will enter LYNKN with Playroom and Wingtip. This is painted on a repurposed piece of wall art which was supposed to be a funny way of defining a boy. That didn't lend itself to a name so I used a fix that is on an approach into Denver. Since they're limited to five characters, the spelling needs to by creative. In this case, it's pronounced "Lincoln". I plan on doing more of these type views.
The original wall art is shown above left and a gif with a few shots along the way.
It sat for about two months then got about 5 or 6 days of work.
The original piece was a gallery wrap but I didn't give much time to painting the
edges so I put a simple wood frame around it. Always happy when the joints work out well.
