The Friday before the fourth was a day off so I my ladies at the Garden of the Gods. Ash had been there once before and I had never been there so it was a good adventure.
The rock formations are great and pictures seldom do this of this size justice, but here is one of the most predominant slices - also known as Kissing Camels - which are on the top, about a third of the distance from the left. As you can see, we had a beautiful day!
Another cool rock slice and my lovely ladies shortly after attempting a short climb.
Most beautiful thing I saw all day.
Also beautiful, a little Mountain Bluebird (I think) checking out the visitors
and a beautiful mother making her little jewel smile.
I really do like my DSLR, and ladybugs, so I had to add these closeups. It was pretty cool because Bella loves ladybugs and this plant attracted dozens of them. I was able to demonstrate how mechanically they fly away. I love that.
A beautiful guide in the world of discovery.
Two more nature shots. The cactus on the left was just one of many with impressive flowers.
On the right, a good 'ol thistle!
The park was a great adventure and per the desire of the original land owner, the park remains free. I certainly recommend visiting this park even if you only have a couple of hours! You can chose to walk on paths with or without steps so it's very welcoming to all guests.
