Why I Love Airfields 8 : 2019-05

I flew a recovery flight into First Flight (KFFA) to pick up an aircraft that had an electrical problem.  The cool thing is our mechanic found the problem in about 5 minutes.  The best problems to find.  If you've been here before you know I'm a fan of First Flight (other flight).

We had time to walk to the memorial, and this is where the picture comes in.  As a pilot, you like to think you have excellent perception.  Well, I'm going to give myself that credit on this one.  We were leaving the stone structure and something wasn't right.  And there it was, some crazy moth that thinks it looks like granite.  And I'd have to say it does.  The second pic is the 'give away' shot.  Pretty impressed with myself for seeing him.  I don't take these things for granite.

We took our Arrow III to KFFA to pick up the wounded bird.  I took the Arrow back and so I insisted on flying as a wingman to the Cessna.  It was the first time I'd flown formation for quite some time and it was a good refresher.
