Colonial Williamsburg

My brother and sister-in-law visited and we took a trip to Colonial Williamsburg.  It was great - they wanted to see it, I hadn't seen it, and the weather was pretty good.  My pictures a probably not the typical pics, but here's what I have.

When you first walk in, there's a nice model of the layout back in the day.

When you walk from the visitors center to the historic area you pass through this  impressive
all-brick tunnel/bridge. The amount of work involved combined with the
dramatic lighting left a strong impression.

This was actually my favorite picture.  Just some succulents in a pot by
the Governor's Palace.  I was wishing I adored the heat like they did.

These are even more random.  They are from the inside of the old jail.  I was amazed at the stamina of wood.  If you use it, it just keeps going.  But if you abandon it, it gives up the ghost.  Aside from that, I thought these walls had a good look with their simplicity and hardiness.  Even the nails were about as basic as can be.

Great visit and great to see my brother and sister-in-law!
