Art, Mountains and Family : 2023-08

Kimberly visiting the parking lot art show. I used her idea for displaying the art.
She has good ideas.

She suggested I used the shelving units I had in the garage. They are in the left of the photo and are displaying over half of the pieces. I added a-frames made from 2x4s to hold the other pieces. The shelving units were perfect and strong and on wheels which made it easy to place them. Also, the a-frames worked out much better than I thought they would.  I cut off 18" to make the feet so one a-frame was two 2x4s. Just by moving a screw (for hanging) they were also pretty flexible. I'd've used Kimberly's idea for all the art, but didn't have more shelves and they are pricier than 2x4s and hinges. I was happy K visited the show.

My brother, sis-in-law and nephew vacationed to Keystone and we took a day trip to visit. Keystone was nice, but for some reason most things were closed. We took a quick drive over Vail and took a nice ride up the gondola. It was a great day.

There was an old gondola car at the top so K and I took the photo op. Then we were asked to get out because it's "not a good idea to be in a metal box in a lightening storm". We complied. Then we stayed on top of the mountain for about an hour because they stop the gondola when there's lightening in the area. But, we had a nice lunch and great views.

The flowers in vail are quite epic. The one on the left is in my yard - also epic.

We were in a Gorsuch store and I thought these old skis looked pretty cool.

The group of us at the bottom of the hill.

Three of us as mountain beasts. I am glad we visited - it was a great day.

A very cool and large moth (unrelated to the trip) and a cool stain glass in the bathroom hallway of the Michael Garman museum also known as Magic Town. I didn't take any pictures of the inside but it was a pretty neat place to visit.
