Caninerson

Acrylic on particle board
28 x 16 inches (71.1 x 40.6 cm)
There was a call for art entitled "FANTASTIC MR. ANDERSON", and I had to participate as I'm a fan of his scenes. His stories are good, but I'm a bigger fan of the images. Blue Crest was sitting around - forgotten and without love - so I painted over it. I love Art Deco I immediately thought of an art deco sky with colors Anderson might use. I'm pretty happy with the result. I was going to have the person holding a string that was tied to a box - maybe a box on wheels. In the end, I thought a dog - while reducing surrealism - gave a little more connection for people. If I do something like this again, I might use less clouds. The title is not a play on Anderson's name. It is a fancy word for dog person - canine person. I might make a series, and do the same with Felinerson. We can submit up to three images, and I'm going to include Snipe and Croptop. I think they have an Anderson feel.
Above left is Blue Crest from 03 May 2025. On the right is the only stage shot I took.
Sidenote: time is a funny thing...I would have guessed Blue Crest was much older.
There is a frame currently holding, but I haven't yet posted the pictures.
