Living in the Swamp | 2019-07

One advantage (or disadvantage) of living in the swamp is encountering unique creatures.  Moths seem to be creative and I was able to catch a couple that stood out from others.  The first one, the "Io" moth, isn't very fancy but it was big - about a three inch wingspan.  And it did have some cool spots on its wings.

But the second one, the Luna Moth, was incredible.  Its color, shape, and details were something I'd never seen before.  And it was also big with a wingspan of easily five inches.  I had a moment where it stayed on my hand, but then he departed.  Watching it fly was as amazing as its appearance.  It was almost like it was in slow motion and more akin to a bird than a moth.  Truly a benefit of the swamps.
