Pumpkins and Mountains : 2022-10

Kimberly and I took a great drive into the mountains on an perfect October afternoon. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision which are often the most fun. We were able to catch some of the trees changing colors and enjoyed great scenery.

Before we departed, we picked out a couple of pumpkins for Halloween. We visited a seasonal market near home which had pumpkins strewn about a field. There were little wagons you could use as you picked them out. That way, the pumpkins were able to enjoy a little ride before they left their friends.

At one of our stops - kind of a lookout spot - there were some great clumps of moss. I am always amazed with what you'll find and have been snapping moss pics for quite awhile (Secret World of Moss). These little mats were no disappointment. The resiliency of something so detailed and delicate is amazing.

A panoramic shot of our location and a couple specific rock formations. The pillar is cool just because we never know if/when it'll fall. The formation on the right grabbed my attention because it looked like a soft, but heavy, box resting on some other boxes. If we could see a time-lapsed replay of how these rocks ended up like this I think we'd be amazed. This same formation (on the right) was the inspiration for my 2022 Christmas Card. It was a great day.
